ATTRACTIVENESS | OTHER’S REACTIONS
“It's amplifying, that notion of what a woman can look like. You can have long hair as long as you want and it can be whatever color. There is a gorgeous woman I see walking on Madison Avenue sometimes, and she could be in her early seventies, and she's just exquisitely beautiful with amazing one-of-a-kind clothes and her hair is sort of thunder gray with cobalt streaks in it. You know, the really artificial vivid cobalt blue, and she's dazzling.”
“How anyone reacts to you depends on how you carry yourself. That’s true no matter what color your hair is. Anyone who can't see me is just going to have to get out of the way!"
“I don't think that sexuality and gray hair have much in common. I think that if you're sexually attractive, you're sexually attractive with gray hair or with blond hair. I think it all again comes from within.”
“The most striking person to support it was this Italian guy, really handsome and very stylish. He just thought my gray hair was so sexy because it showed confidence and he wished that his wife wouldn’t ‘paint’ her hair. And I thought boy, if somebody heard this back in America they just wouldn’t believe it. And in Italy most women color their hair. Maybe for men confidence equals sexy. He was a really sexy man so he could probably handle someone with confidence. I never forgot it and it happened years ago."
“You know what they say: gray hair always looks better on other people!”
“When I first started going really gray, I got it from all sides. People who want to criticize my hair have issues. It’s about them, not about me. People treat me differently since I let it go back to grey. It seems that people are more comfortable with me. It makes them treat me more normally when they see me in the [wheel] chair. When I was blonde, they treated me as if were mentally retarded. Now, it’s more legitimate, or something.”
