AGING
“Why would I want to look younger? I am the age I am, and this is the body I've been given, and so I'd like to honor that.”
“I couldn’t wait until I was an older person. I was so excited when I turned forty. I told my mom I felt that when I turned forty, I was finally the age I was supposed to be. At 37 gray hair helped me look my age. That’s one of the reasons I keep it too. It helps me with authority. Looking younger or older than your age causes problems.”
“I have no problem with my age. Every time has its own value. I’m thankful to God. Happiness comes from inside. We each have the keys of honesty and love. You still have time, no matter your age, to know yourself.”
“When I was younger my hair was distinctive. People noticed me. I was more on the outside. When you’re young your answers all lie out there—your scene, your mate, whatever. When you’re older, your answers lie inside.”
“If women allow it to come out, there's a radiance that can come with aging.”
“In human beings the silver quality is an emblem of having been on the planet for a while. And so you've learned a few things and so that passing on of what you've learned is sacred, it's a sacred trust. It's not that every older person deserves that, but lots of them do know quite a lot that we should listen to. It's something that we don't honor enough in our culture. It's not just a matter of equal rights for older people. Young people are getting short-changed if they don't have in their psychological world the idea not only that they can grow older and be wiser, but also that there are older people around who know a few things.”
